Brgr Co. Review

The buzz surrounding this place was substantial considering the restaurant itself has not made itself accessible to the public in terms of advertising, especially online and through social media.

Anyway, I was intent on trying the place and Hady’s proposition came at the right time. I like trying new places with him, he’s a resto business veteran and can pinpoint the good and the bad in a place much better than I can.

First and foremost, the 6oz burger is for 25,500 (27,500 if you want cheese with it). 6 ounces sounds like a lot, but it’s actually 17o grams (which pales in comparison with burgers like Roadster’s 220s). The meat though is angus beef imported from the United States, which explains the price hike.

It was an extremely good burger. The fries were exquisite too. However, to be frank, it barely tickled my appetite and even though was delicious, was definitely not worth the 27,500 LL. The imported-beef concept didn’t sink in with me, but I stress that the burger is heavenly. So, if you’re a true burger fanatic, and know your burgers well, you will fall in love with it. If you’re human like the rest of us, I’d recommend Classic Burger Joint which is a 5 minutes walk away.

The venue is very nice too. It is an old building, with a traditional Lebanese stone masonry interior blended with modern elements like the bar and giant mirrors. The mirrors by the way have very funny and enlightening quotes written on them.

I can’t say the same about the staff though. They were unremarkable, with courtesy to a minimum and service restricted to the essential. In other words, they take the order, get the food, get the check, and it’s goodbye. In a place with a somewhat different concept like this one, is expected to help acquaint the customers with the place and the food.

The pudding cheesecake though made up for the shortcomings, it was truly, unquestionably, extremely good!

Verdict: If you’re a burger fanatic, you’re gonna be a regular there. If not, it’s definitely worth a try

Price: Pricy, period.

Atmosphere: Cosy, homy

Staff: Needs a lot of people skills training

Food: A burger, or a hotdog. That’s pretty much the menu. The desserts are AMAZING though.
