Make sure you read the official Pier 7 Review written two weeks after the opening that details prices and policies
Over the past few weeks, I’ve followed with you guys Pier 7′s transformation from a piece of scorched land to what is set to be the new nightlife hotspot in Lebanon. Tonight, it finally opened its doors and quite frankly I am impressed!
I’ll start off with a description of the completed venue. After walking down a 20 or so meter corridor, you make a left turn and voila, you’re at the venue. If you came by yacht, you can dock at the “pier” and walk in from the opposite direction.
At the center of the open-air superclub is a massive bar, with four steel pillars inside of it holding up a circular platform where the light and sound systems, as well as the dancers and acrobats, dangle from.
Radiating from the center, are three different levels each a bit higher than the one before it. The highest level is where the private booths and lounges are located at. The circus-like distribution of the seats and tables makes for a splendid view of the stage, bar and everyone else present from virtually anywhere in the club.
On the highway-side, a massive steel wall hides Citymall and other industrial buildings surrounding the club. The unique feature though in my opinion was on the seaside, where huge fountains shot up synchronized jets of water that were lit-up with colorful LED displays from below. This created a pretty cool backdrop to the sea of heads and hands dancing the night away.
The one thing I felt was unnecessary were the private booths and lounges. I’m all for minimal design, but to be honest, they look like shipping containers made from tinted glass. Plus, if you want to sit in a room, play your own music and invite your own guests, what’s the point of going out to a club?
I must applaud the guys at Pier 7 for the tremendous effort they put into opening tonight. Only hours before, the corridor was still being assembled and the “7″ sign wasn’t even up! I must confess, I had my doubts and expected they wouldn’t be welcoming guests before late July. However, the signs of last-minutes preps were hard to miss. That’s why, I will not pass my final verdict on the club now. I’ll come back in a week or two, when the venue, staff and clientele would be more well-established and better moulded, for a clearer view of what Pier 7 is, who its clubbers are and why or why not you should be booking a table there.
The music was cool with crowd-pleasing House remixes everyone was singing along to. One track I was ecstatic came on was Daft Punk’s “One More Time” which put me in such a good mood that I overlooked the somewhat overcrowded venue!

Reminds me a lot of Sky Bar..and again I couldn’t help but notice that a lot of people were sitting! That’s not a club to me! I like to dance, move around, jump around..act crazy and ish..you know the drill. That just doesn’t look possible there! It looks more an “intimate concert venue” than a night club to me.!!
How was the show? Was the acrobat performance up to standard? How was the service, the drinks? I’m going to have to go when I get back and give YOU my real impression, lol..
It was sorta crowded, and new for everyone to be dancing I guess. But you’re absolutely right, it would make for a perfect intimate music venue…
The service and the drinks were the best features I guess. The staff were super-nice and courteous, not the shoving, neanderthal type.
The show was ok, but not life-changing =P
Great review! In addition to what Danielle said, isn’t there any bad smell around in the area??? What about the minimum charge (1000$??
) and which age do they consider as under-age (under 25?
)
Anyway let’s wait and see whose review will be better! Your next updated one or Danielle’s! haha Keep it up Gino!
Age was like 23+ and no, there was no smell!
As for minimum charge, I have no idea, I was invited there =P
This was just the opening review, the more in-depth one will come a week or two later =D
Great Review!! and love the pics! now I really want to go
I was passing by the Geant last night, where i saw the place by mistake. , and i stopped around to take a look. well the place from the outside is wicked, its Huge, its WOW !! its a great idea, I’m sure it will take over all clubs in Lebanon. But i heard its was only invitations for the opening. Cool, we must hit it sometime !!
It is. Only half of it is complete, the club half. There is still the beach resort half which has barely begun construction!
I am also waiting to read your next review, because I’m planning on going there
Was there valet parking? Taxis nearby? How much should you expect to pay? Is it easy/hard to get in? Is it completely outdoor too? I’m a little afraid it might be too hot to dance there..
What happened to that post where you said some people wanted to kill you?!?!
Valet parking was horrible, almost every single car got a ticket. No parking available.
It’s not too hot, but all outdoors. No fans installed yet it seems. The private lounges are ACed.
thx
Hey gino, in turning 21 on july 27 and i want to make my birthday there,
it is allowed to enter under 21? Because last year a friend of mine at skybar letted me and my friends celebrate my bday there
please let me know and i need the minimun charge for like a table for 15 persons
thank you:)
Thanks for the interesting review. I know that many tourists complain about difficulties to get inside the clubs and end up paying totally different prices. Can you say something about this and Pier7? Are “normal” tourists supposed to be able to get in to the club or do people have to “know someone” or bribe someone? Any official webpage yet?
Thanks, keep up the good work!
Hey Gino, not only the private lounges are ACed, there is jet nozzles all around the outdoor area too. Even the bar is AC’d. The place is really well studied, we should admit that to BLANKPAGE Architects, they are really good. The project is amazing. They are designing now the beach resort, in fact it is more a pool club, i have seen the concept, it is promising…
Thanks Gino! i was actually surfing for info about the club and you provided me the exact need for it. I noticed it when i faced one night a huge traffic on the way home
and it was blamed. I haven’t gone to see it yet but hopefully next month i will! Y3tikel 3afyi! Thanks
Went there yesterday. Pros: location, design, music. Cons: rude staff, unprofessional staff, no manners, pretentious useless staff, low life staff, etc. Totally ruined our evening. I hope they close down soon.
