Dbayeh is arguably the next big thing in Lebanon. With traditional heavyweights like ABC expanding, and new players on the block like Le Mall moving in, it’s set to become the go-to destination for a massive chunk of the Lebanese population.
After leaking Fuddruckers opening there, I have stumbled upon information of another interesting project being built only a few hundred meters away. It’s called the Blueberry Square Mall, and it will group together several food and beverage businesses under one roof.
Now, you might be wondering why the hell would anyone do that with ABC and Le Mall and now the Beirut Waterfront City project only meters away… I wondered that too, but then again, these places charge way too much for rent and a more family-oriented place with areas for kids and less shopping-driven setups might actually be a good idea.
I’ve also gotten hold of a few restaurants considering opening there, although I must point out, the list is not final. The expected inauguration date is February 2012, though I suspect that’s a bit too ambitious. I’d give them till mid or late summer of 2012.

Oh, and while I was coming back from snapping pictures of the Blueberry Square Mall site (directly facing Le Mall), I found that Al Mandaloun was also planning to open in Dbayeh! More on that next week (hopefully)
