FASHAL – The Burger Bar or Johnny Rockets?

The Burger Bar logo seemed veeeeery familiar (I remember stuff that have to do with food well). And today, it ht me! A Google search later, and voila! They could’ve at least changed the color scheme =\

Interesting fact: Johnny Rockets used to be open in Beirut, Ashrafieh some 13 years ago, which makes it sorta recognizable to most people over 20-25… An even BIGGER mistake. Thanks MM for the info =D

It’s a shame that there is no more originality in the restaurant industry.
Every burger place is imitating the concept of Classic Burger Joint, and every logo is stolen from some international company.
Personally, I believe that the only one with authentic feel is classic burger joint.
Plus, I posted this on the burger bar’s wall months ago, and they deleted it without responding.

why post this as anonymous? advertising is not wrong!

i agree about originality, although I have to give credit for a few places. Shawarma republic (Sodeco), Recipe Fusion Fast Food (Mansourieh). you should try them.
now concerning your other ignorant opinion: everyone is imitating CBJ’s concept? what concept is that? they merely took it from the usual burger joints. that is not a concept, that is a burger restaurant with restricted space, lower rent and average burgers.
it may have an authentic feel because of the unpainted walls and “shraba redda” pepsi bottles. In the concept point of view i think CBJ could have done better. a burger joint is where you can get a quick cheap burger in a box or a small plate, eat, and move on. not get a big ceramic satellite dish with a burger salad and fries (worse and worse every time).

burgers: average – many choices, mouthwatering when u read them > deceitful when u taste them.
fries: oily and stale. (makes me wonder about the “freshly cut daily” part and quality and age of oil)
      overall: overpriced, overrated, overzealous customers.

Yea well… It’s a shame for the imitation thing. And as for the original american Johnny Rockets, yea well it’s not THAT tasty.

  5. But the burgers at Burger Bar are delicious! so WTH, let them imitate :P

this is what happens when u don’t pay for branding ;-pppp or did they???

  7. DAMN!

  8. sara says:

unfortunately the decoration is very bad too and the burgers…nothing special, even bad compared to Classic Burger and BRGR co, will not go back.

  9. Rabih says:

Never, even considered making it part of my burger hunt due to this blasphemous case of plagiarism!

I remember going to the Johnny Rockets in Downtown near the ESCWA building – they tried to create the drive-in cinema experience but I guess it was too early back then for people to properly appreciate it… Now it’s another over-saturated parking… Shocker.

Johnny Rockets is all right: whenever I get the chance to be in the Gulf I make sure to give it a try and reminisce on the good’old times :)
