IN DANGER: 2500-Year-Old Phoenician Port in Beirut

While the Lebanese are busy posting and broadcasting fake messages that the government will be paying for your N7W votes, Lebanon’s “evil empire” is planning to bulldoze and bury a 2500-year-old Phoenician port in Beirut’s Minet El Hosn region.

The plot where the port has been rediscovered though, is set to house 3 massive towers which none of us can afford to buy. So, a piece of actual history and culture, and a true opportunity to boost Beirut’s status as a major city in ancient history of the Mediterranean, is going to be buried with concrete and steel for “Venus Towers”.

Libanews.com has the full story, but it is in French. I summed it up above though for non-French speakers. Here’s another article on the issue in Arabic on Al-Akhbar

So, after hearing this appalling news, I strongly encourage you to sign the petition here. This is a site in actual danger. This is a true treasure of human culture, which by any means is far more valuable than any natural formation.
