UPDATE: Within Temptation Will Be Performing on July 10,2012 at Forum de Beyrouth
The guys that brought Serge Tankian last year (Beirut Rock Festival in Zouk Mikayel Historic Amphitheater), are getting Dead Can Dance this year, in mid-September. But, that’s not the best part. I found out they’re finalizing a deal with Within Temptation too, and before posting this, I gauged the enthusiasm of people who listen to this kinda music, and they seemed super-interested, hence this leak.
BUT, during my “research” I found out Guns’N'Roses will be in Turkey around that time. Normally, a gig in Greece, Turkey or the UAE means a Beirut stop before or after is highly likely… Also in my research, I found out that the Within Temptation singer has collaborated with Armin van Buuren, so she’s ok by me!
So, for now go wild that Within Temptation are most probably coming this September. And who knows, with the RHCP already in town, imagine Guns N Roses, Within Temptation and Dead Can Dance too. (I have no idea how awesome that would be, I don’t really know much about bands. But, I know some of those titles will definitely make a few metal-heads, mosh-pitt bad boys and girls excited. It’s only fair I guess, we got so many awesome DJs, time for “ancient” music now =P

Just to clarify some misinformation, I do not blame the writer as he doesn’t seem to be a rocker or metalhead and thus the errors:
First he said: “I found out that the Within Temptation singer has collaborated with Armin van Buuren, so she’s ok by me” My dear friend the fact that she collaborated with Armin Van Buuren is enough for us NOT TO WANT TO SEE HER… Not because we do not respect for that kind of music but for the fact that for us when such a thing happen it means this is no longer metal but pop, so it is NOT interested for us,maybe for the pop and arabic music fans, but not Metalheads, this would definitely make many not attend.
Second, none of the bands you mentioned is related to the music that can insinuate a moshpit, so please do not mix between Thrash and Death Metal, and Gothic Metal and Trip Hope.
Anyway the guys who brought Serj Tankian is an organisation created by Mr. Jyad El Murr called 2U2C and the bands coming this year is probably not related to any of the bands you mentioned except probably Dead Can Dance (I still not sure if they will be part of the Beirut Rock Festival)

If she collaborated with armin van buuren in a song that doesn’t mean she is pop and no longer metal,(i didn’t like the idea of her collaboration though). + Within temptation is not a heavy or thrash metal band but no one can deny that it is a Metal band! if you listen to their old albums you’ll like what you’ll hear for their style was heavier and darker, and now they’re more symphonic which is not your style Bassem, but it’s not neccessary to offend every band that comes to lebanon which is NOT heavy/death metal band. Such a band coming to lebanon is great for our rock/metal scene. i’m a metalhead, i listen to all genres of metal, gothic,symphonic,death,doom,black,heavy, & i’ll attend the concert like many other metalheads,i like this band, & i’m not going to their concert to do a moshpit. It is one of the old respected bands in metal + they have a great performance and played in metal festivals all over the world. Anyways, won’t be prompting others not to attend

I wasn’t criticizing the band itself, I AM A FAN of Within Temptation, I do enjoy some gothic bands and they are one of them, I was making a point about her collaboration as it was put in this article as a PLUS, you get the idea, 2inno now collaborating with a DJ makes her important? that is an insult for music, as DJs for me are a lowlife art. That was the whole point. Again I am a fan of them and her gorgeous voice, now things should have worked differently we were going to have a festival with them and more thrashier bands but their time didn’t suite.

That is just so fucking awesome…just the thought of this GREAAAAAAATTTTT goddish band.coming to lebanon is breath taking i cannot believe theyre actually gonna come i cnt wait i already have my seat taken and i will attack this goddess of vocal when i see her and i will kiss her and i will thank her because she exists.

yeah that’s what i meant by i’m not going there to do a moshpit, i’m going for the band and good music, and yes metalheads like us didn’t like the idea of her collaboration with a dj,but commercial fans liked that indeed.
