I came across this comic book today and realized Andy, a visiting foreign student in Beirut at the time Hariri was assassinated, stayed up to date and came back for visits. He recounts his story about who “The Man Who Built Beirut Was” in impressive simplicity yet with enough detail most of us folks in Lebanon would’ve probably forgotten by now.
He’s also somewhat fair, and admits ventures like Solidere for example had their ups, as well as gravely grim downs. It’s a nicely-illustrated, concise and comprehensive comic book about the turbulent 2005-2011 as seen through a foreigner’s eyes (IMHO the best way to catalogue history in Lebanon).
Here are a few pages I took the liberty of posting here, and to read all the book (which he’s posted ALL for FREE online) go to his blogspot here. It’s also for sale as a hard copy.
