So, y’all know how I hate censorship and bans of ANY sort. Remember when Gaga got banned for a couple of weeks? I became her number 1 fan, blasting “Judas” in my care just to for the hell of it. No priest, sheikh or government employee should be able to tell you what you can and cannot read, listen to, watch, etc.
The website is crowd-sourced and you can submit an entry yourself, which makes me wonder how accurate some entries are. Most though, are genuine as far as I can tell, and some of the entries are shocking. Frank Sinatra is among them for example. I’m sure tons of you adore him, and a LOT of people choose “My Way” as their wedding song or whatever. It’s actually banned for “zionist leanings” -__-
It’s neatly divided into categories, which are then organized on a timeline basis from the 1940s till the present, making it very easy to navigate and browse.
Understandably, they don’t offer the banned materials free online, something I really want to do. So, if you happen to have any of the books, movies, music you feel should be seen by folks back home who don’t have the time to search for it themselves, please share it with me.
Here are a few slides showcasing how it all works.
