I’m not sure how, but all you people can’t seem to get enough of Myriam Klink, especially after she announced her intention to run for a parliamentary seat. It seems OTV have given up parading her on their network for your entertainment (or horror) at warching the seemingly oblivious-to-ridicule-of-her Klink talk “serious” and sing very, inspirational songs. Al Jadeed though have not, and I have confirmed from multiple sources that she will be 1 of 14 contestants on the realty TV show that will end up producing one winner that will be put up for elections.
The show’s premiere this Tuesday will feature heavyweight guests including the President himself as well as 3 ministers. The contestants will live in a common area with cameras, sort of reminiscing of the Star-Academy style invasive reality TV. At the end, one contestant will be given the opportunity to run for a seat in his/her preferred district (if applicable according to whatever electoral law eventually passes). However, I’m not sure how they will be selected (jury, votes, both?)
They’re really trying to keep a lid on the new show, “Za3im”, but you can all see teaser ads on the streets already. Nothing of course is 100% sure, such as the president’s and ministers’ guest appearance. If you ask me, it’d sorta be weird since ministers are elected and we don’t elect our president, the parliament does and usually through pre-determined processes instead of real, actual elections.
I’m not sure what to make of this, turning our MP selection process into entertainment, but why not? However, I’m not sure how much Klink’s presence might overshadow perhaps more serious and qualified contestants? (I’m assuming there are some of those in this country, right?) Not that I don’t think she should run, I’m all for it, freedom of speech and opinion and she has every right to. I’d honestly prefer her to most of our 128 MPs…
Regardless, I know I personally will have my popcorn and Twitter app ready for Tuesday night for the laugh-fest!

I like the idea that we might see the real face of one of our “Potential” deputy through a reality show, though Myriam Klink kinda’ don’t fit this place. Speaking about elections, there’s an application that shows all Lebanon’s voters list 2013 with all the data, it’s called “People of Leb”, although it might seem beneficial in order to correct wrong information, but how come our ages and religion are available publically?
